The Wakefield Volunteer Fire Department worked mid week to burn what remained of a city owned house that had burned last winter. The house on Ahola Avenue was a total loss, the two residents of the home have resettled elsewhere. The controlled burn was started around five and was still burning around 7. Firefighters employed various methods to break down the burning remains. The new owners of the property intend to fill in the foundation and level the land. Neighbors on each side of the property will enjoy a more wide open view.
