The Memorial Day weekend proved to be an interesting and encouraging window into emergence of Ironwood and surrounding areas after over a year of COVID-19 imposed restrictions to business. The chair of the Ironwood Economic Development Corporation was providing a tour for visitors from Chicago and reports they were impressed, enjoying the down city square businesses, some new, open and moving forward. Gina Thorsen, an EDC member, said she it’s been great to see folks out and about and it will be great to resume Ironwood’s First Friday activities later on this afternoon and evening.
