The Iron County Comprehensive Planning, Land and Zoning Committee has passed a contested conditional use permit, allowing the use of 536 N. Falcon Road as a Tourist Rooming House in a residential-recreation zones district. The opposition to the CUP expressed concern over traffic, noise, trash, etc. Those on the committee responded that the CUP is not permanent and that if violations of the specifications of the CUP, the permit can be revoked. Those that approved the CUP stated that for the committee to deny the permit the action must be based on “measurable evidence and not personal preferences of the community.”
