A FEW RESIDENTS NOT HAPPY WITH HIGHWAY AND WATER AND SEWER WORK IN THE CITY

Bessemer City Council heard complaints from the owner of Bluff’s Inn about the incredible lack of communication between the Michigan Department of Transportation and the City with the residents and businesses that will be affected by the upcoming US 2 and water and sewer projects. Robert Avery said the highway essentially running through the outside edge of his parking lot was never discussed with him. He also expressed concern that water mains being put in across his property would affect the landscaping around his business. Project manager Darren Pionk said options to save Avery’s landscaping would be investigated.
