WATER TESTING IN IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP COMPLETED, AWAITING RESULTS
Results from residential water testing of 25 properties will take anywhere from two to four weeks. Private wells in the area of the Gogebic-Iron County airport in Ironwood Township were tested for PFAs. PFA’s are present in firefighting foam in wide use at airports and airstrips. A public report will be shared with homeowners and the public, letting everyone know if any PFA’s were detected and if any exceeded standard safety levels that might require mitigation. If higher levels are detected, a second round of sampling may be required.
