Ironwood City Commission Approves New Water Treatment Plant

IRONWOOD CITY COMMISSION APPROVES AGREEMENT TO START WORK ON NEW WATER TREATMENT PLANT

The Ironwood City Commission approved an engineering service agreement to begin work on the estimated $ 9.7 million dollar water treatment and pumping station. The design process on the plant will take place over the summer and fall with a call for bids expected to go out in early 2022. Work on the plant wil lbe funded by a grant of just under 44% of the total budget with the remaining funds coming through loans at 1.25% interest. The less the city has to pay for the project, the less water rates will have to go up.
