FOURTH OF JULY FESTIVITIES ARE BEING PLANNED IN WAKEFIELD
The Wakefield City Council has pledged to return the town’s Fourth of July celebration by committing $2,500 to the event. Last year’s events were canceled due COVID-19 restrictions. City Manager Robert Brown has said he hopes everyone stays healthy and folks continue to get vaccinated. He also said attendance at holiday events would be up to the individual and everyone attending would be encouraged to follow safety protocols. Committees are working on their different events, with details still being ironed out. Organizers encourage people to check the city’s Facebook page for updates on the celebration and events.
