Wakefield-Marenisco Board of Ed. Approves Athletic Contracts with Bessemer School District
The Wakefield-Marenisco Board of Education met earlier in the week and voted to authorize four separate athletic contracts with the Bessemer Area School District. The five year contracts for Gogebic Miners football, baseball, softball and crosscountry address how coaches will be hired, including a contingency that relates to the handling of internal posting of positions versus preference. Also added to all four contracts is a rider stating that hiring procedures will follow the host school’s contract terms, respecting the fact that Bessemer does give preference to internal candidates. Board members voted unanimously to approve all four contracts.
