Vilas County Board of Supervisors Denies Mayer for Board Vacancy

VILAS COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS DENIES RECOMMENDATION FOR BOARD VACANCY

The Vilas County board of supervisors denied 6-11 approval of Christopher Mayer of Lac du Flambeau to fill the position of District 10 left vacant with the resignation of Al Bauman.
Ron DeBruyne commended Mayer, but was opposed by Supervisor Bob Hanson who claimed there were 42 Wisconsin Department of Revenue state tax warrants filed against Mayer and that by choosing Mayer the board would have a mess on its hands. Several supervisors after the vote indicated that this was the first time in recent memory that a person recommended to fill a board seat was denied.
