Longtime Hurley School Board Member Retires

Long Time Hurley School Board Announces He Won’t Run for Another Term

Long time Hurley School Board member Joe Simonich announced recently that he will not run for a tenth term in April. Simonich has served on the board for the past 27 years and was said to have helped the district accomplish great things during his tenure. School board President Leslie Kolesar said that because of Simonich’s and the rest of the board’s foresight over the years, the school district has been one of the most technologically advanced in the state. At the school board meeting on Monday, Simonich was honored with a plaque and accolades from board members and administrators past and present. Simonich remarked that there is no other school district like Hurley in the entire state.
