IRONWOOD TOWNSHIP PAYS THE PLUMBER’S BILL
The Ironwood Township Board of Trustees had decided to pay the plumbing bill for a residence on Jackson Road after the basement was flooded with sewage. The property owners had called a plumber after the backup and the bill came to $262. There was discussion during the meeting whether paying the bill would set a precedent, but no one on the board could remember any similar situation in recent years. The motion to approve paying the bill included language indicating this wasn’t establishing a precedent in future cases and that property owners should be informed of the need to contact the township before any workman was contacted.
