GCC Looking for New Program to Offer Students

Gogebic Community College is searching for a program to enhance the school and utilize existing space at the Lindquest Center. The Board of Trustees is considering three programs, outdoor education, occupational therapy assistant and physical therapy assistant. Vice President of Academic Services David Darrow said that of the three under consideration, outdoor education appears to be a good fit, as last year the outdoor recreational industry brought in $788 billion last year. He said he is also looking for something that is expandable. All three programs, to a degree, meet those qualifications. It is expected that a recommendation will be made by May and that the new program would be offered Fall of 2023.
