Former Director of Ironwood Public Safety Department Sentenced

FORMER IPSD DIRECTOR SENTENCED

The former Director of the Ironwood Public Safety Department was sentenced to seven days of community service and must pay a $600 fine after being found guilty of attempted eavesdropping when he used a recording device to document a conversation between two other IPSD staffers. Gregory Dean Klecker’s sentence was part of a plea agreement with the court. Although state law precludes probation, Klecker could face contempt charges if he doesn’t finish his community service in the next 14 weeks. Klecker was also ordered to pay court costs and associated fees.
