The State’s Spring primary is Tuesday in Iron County. There’s only one race on the ballet, who will face off in the contest for state superintendent of public instruction in April. According to the Daily Globe, there are seven candidates who will compete for an open seat after Carolyn Stanford Taylor chose not to seek a term of her own after replacing Governor Tony Evers after his election in 2018. Ever’s election as governor means the race is the first time in a dozen years the state’s top education spot has been vacant and only the second time since the 80’s that Evers isn’t on the ballot.
