Irownwood City Commission Approves Letter of Intent for Water Treatment Plant

The Ironwood City Commission unanimously approved a letter of intent that the city intends to secure financing a new water treatment plant. According to the Daily Globe, the project, estimated at $9.7 million dollars, would construct a concrete, gravity filtered water treatment plant and pump station to handle manganese and iron water quality issues and discoloration in the city’s water system. Ironwood will be looking at securing the best possible grants and low-interest loans possible according to engineers at the city commission meeting Monday.
