Gogebic City Commission Sends Letter of Protest to Governor over Vaccine Diversion

The Gogebic County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the drafting of a letter to Governor Gretchen Witmer, objecting to the diversion of COVID 19 vaccinations from rural to more suburban areas of the state. According to the Daily Globe, the letter will also be addressed to the appropriate persons at the Michigan Department of Public Health and Human Services. The decision to protest was based on a report from James Lorenson, who is the county board chair. Lorenson is requesting more information as to why after first round vaccinations were given, now there is not enough supply to administer the second dose in a timely manner.
