The faculty and staff of Ewen Trout School are the first in Ontonagon County to be completely immunized with the COVID 19 vaccine. According to a report from News 6, school Superintendent David Radovich said 33 people were vaccinated yesterday. That included bus drivers, cooks, paraprofessionals and teachers. Radovich said he was happy that his school won’t have to close its doors due to a COVID outbreak now. Mariana Black, a nurse with the Western UP Health Department, said schools are eager to be vaccinated, checking in to be sure they could schedule vaccination clinics as soon as possible. Black said the vaccination process is very straightforward for the district employees, they’ll have to answer a few health questions to answer as a precaution against reactions to the vaccine. The main thing, Black said is patience, the opportunity to be vaccinated will come.
