Mt. Zion is now open. Opening day had been scheduled for earlier in the month, but sufficient snow hadn’t fallen until Christmas Day. According to the Daily Globe, \ was about 75% below normal, perhaps due in part to the Team Z kids ski club Christmas camp moving to Blackjack Mountain in Bessemer Township and possible conservative behavior on the part of attendees due to COVID 19. Currently, guests can purchase food inside, but must eat outside or in the heated warming tent that’s set up outside with a maximum of 12 people in the tent at a time. The tent will be open through at least January. 15, when the order prohibiting indoor food service is set to expire. Mt. Zion is open Thursday through Sunday in good weather.
