Next Winter Storm A Whopper

Meteorologists are tracking the next winter storm bearing down on Michigan.

The National Weather Service office in Gaylord prefaced the storm with a Facebook post that started out with “please take a deep breath before reading on.” The Upper Peninsula is likely to get an inch of snow an hour with the next round, while a wintry mix of snow and ice is in the forecast for the rest of the state of Michigan. What we have now is a winter Storm Warning in effect from 7a Tuesday to 7a Wednesday. What we can expect is heavy snow accumulations of 6-9 inches. With the heaviest snow falling late morning to late evening in Ontonagon, Gogebic and Southern Houghton Counties.
